The 20th anniversary edition of the Aeroflot Open 2025 international chess festival will take place from 28 February to 7 March 2025 in Moscow. The venue will be the Carlton, Moscow (3, Tverskaya Street).
This year's festival, whose main tournament is included in the FIDE Circuit 2025 series, will consist of two competitions: an open tournament for participants FIDE-rated 2300 and above, and a children's tournament, which will be played in four groups (boys and girls up to 13 years old, boys and girls up to 15 years old) on a round-robin basis with 10 participants in each category.
So far, 143 players from 13 countries have registered for the open tournament.
The main competition of the Aeroflot Open 2025 will feature the strongest Russian chess players Ian Nepomniachtchi, Daniil Dubov, Andrey Esipenko, Vladislav Artemiev, Alexander Grischuk, as well as well-known grandmasters Richard Rapport (Hungary), Shamsiddin Vokhidov (Uzbekistan), Raunak Sadhwani (India), the winner of Aeroflot Open 2024 M. Amin Tabatabaei (Iran) and many others.
The children's section of the Aeroflot Open 2025 will bring together leading young chess players. They are the winners of Russian and international competitions.
The overall prize fund amounts to 20,000,000 rubles.
Game days: March 1-6.

1 March: 2:30 PM (Moscow time henceforth) - technical opening, 3 PM – round 1
2-3 March: 11 AM, 5 PM – rounds 2-3, 4-5
4 March: 3 PM – round 6
5 March: 11 AM – round 7, 5 PM – round 8
6 March: 11 AM – round 9, 6 PM – closing ceremony.
The Aeroflot Open International Chess Tournament is organised by the Chess Federation of Russia and the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation with the support of PAO Aeroflot. The media partner of the tournament is a social network Odnoklassniki.
