Round six of the 21st International Chess Festival "Aeroflot Open 2026" took place on Tuesday, March 3, at The Carlton, Moscow.
GM Ian Nepomniachtchi has regained the top spot after defeating IM Lev Zverev. He now has 5.5 points under his belt.
Arseniy Nesterov and David Paravyan are half a point behind Nepomniachtchi. Thirteen participants currently have 4.5 points apiece.
In the "Legends" tournament, four rounds have been played so far. Rafael Vaganian (Armenia), Eugenio Torre (Philippines), and Sergey Makarichev (Russia) are sharing 2 points.
In the U13 open competition, Kirill Zhelonkin and Vladislav Siverin are in the lead with 5 points out of 6. In the girls' section, Alisa Genrietta Yunker boasts a perfect score.
Rounds 7 and 8 are scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, with games starting at 12 AM and 5 PM Moscow time.
The Aeroflot Open International Chess Tournament is organised by the Chess Federation of Russia and the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation with the support of Aeroflot. The media partner of the tournament is a social network Odnoklassniki.
